- MDB Converter 3
We recommend starting with the SDK, which includes C# sample code, the manual and the specification of the proprietary serial protocol called CP. Together with the SDK, you will require one of the products mentioned above and cables if required (RS232 cable / MDB Y Cable). In case you use the converter in master mode, you might also need an MDB Power Supply.
Old product editions
Before the MDB Converter 3 and MDB Converter 4, we had the following product range:
- MDB Converter USB (Master/Slave)
- MDB Converter Serial (Slave)
- MDB Converter Serial (Master)
The MDB Converter 3 and MDB Converter 4 are the successor products for these older converters and supports the functionality range of these older products. With the new converter, you now have the full flexibility with one single hardware.
The new converter is generally backwards compatible with the old converters. However, we have improved the firmware, which might lead to slightly different behaviors in certain circumstances. When you switch from one of the old converters to the new converter, we recommend to retest the setup to ensure compatibility with your application code.
The PCB size stayed the same, but there are some more electronic parts on the PCB and the new Converter is slightly higher than its predecessors.
We are in the process of out-releasing all old product editions and will not provide more stock once the current stock has sold out.
